Charter schools are independent public schools that are free to be innovative and are held accountable for improved student achievement. This gives charters some performance advantages over traditional schools:

• We are able to involve parents to a greater degree in school culture and decision making.
• Our smaller school size allows us to provide enhanced structure and student discipline.
• We promote achievement by holding our teachers, student and parents accountable.
• We are able to reward high quality teachers.
• We are able to be responsive to community needs and provide a quality education choice to families.

Charter schools are public schools. As such, they are held to the same - or often higher- standards as traditional public schools. In addition, they must meet additional measures of accountability set forth by their chartering body and are much more accountable to you.

The Coral Bay Charter Academy consists of a unique partnership among four public charter schools. Each of those schools is rated independently. The Broward Community Charters & Discovery Middle are:

Please join us as part of SAC (School Advisory Council) and work with us as we bring all our schools to an “A” and meet AYP.  Currently, all schools need to make AYP and individual scores are listed below.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are unsure of your child’s specific school.
