Mrs. Cristina Fernandez
Mrs. Cristina Fernandez is a first grade teacher. She has been a teacher with Broward Community Charter School since August 2008.
Prior to teaching here at BCCS, Mrs. Fernandez was a first grade teacher and Academy Leader at a private school here in Coral Springs for 8 years. Mrs. Fernandez began her career in education in 1987 as the founding director of Florida Atlantic University’s Educational Research Center for Child Development. During her 12 years at FAU, Mrs. Fernandez taught several undergraduate classes for the College of Education as an adjunct professor. Mrs. Fernandez also taught classes at Palm Beach Community College and has trained pre-k, kindergarten and first grade teachers in Florida and Arizona.
Mrs. Fernandez has a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Child Development and a Master of Science in Child Development from the Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She holds certification in Prekindergarten/ Primary Education (Age 3/3rd Grade) with an endorsement in English for Speakers of Other Languages. Mrs. Fernandez has been in the in the field of education for over 25 years.
